The «heart» of this work is the cylinder head of the famous Porsche 917, that was originally owned by Joseph «Jo» Siffert (1936 – 1971), the Swiss racing-car driver and a close friend of the artist. His Porsche 917 was first tested in 1970 in Le Mans, and subsequently purchased by Siffert on Juni 25, directly at the Porsche factory. Siffert died only one year later in a car accident, and this work is a touching homage to the artist’s friend.
